Frequently Asked Questions
What are the age restrictions for the Bootleg Canyon Flightlines Adventure?
There are no age restrictions for the adventure tour, however each tour participant will be required to sign a waiver, and will be hiking a little from the launch/landing pads, so children under the age of 12 are not recommended.
Is there a weight restriction on the Flightlines
Yes. You must be between 75 lbs. and 250lbs. to take this adventure tour, because the flightlines relies on the concept of gravity, and a persons weight determines how fast they descend into the landing pad.
What the the proper attire/clothing to wear for the Bootleg Canyon Flightlines?
Casual clothing is recommended. You will be flying over a
canyon, so please make sure you have no loose items on your person, as they
may be lost. Tennis shoes or hiking shoes are highly recommended. Sandals,
slippers, flats, cowboy boots, or high heals are strongly NOT recommended.
What days of the week are the Flightlines open?
The Bootleg Canyon Flightlines are open seven (7) days a
week.
How long is the adventure tour?
The adventure tour begins at the main office, where you will go through your orientation, and get fitted for your harness.
Then, you will be escorted up to the flightlines area to perform a test run
on the small training line. If you are still comfortable at this point, and
the guides are comfortable about your training, you will then be taken up to
the top of Red Mountain, where you will start your adventure. The whole
event takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete.
Can I take photos/video of my adventure?
Yes (with restrictions). Please be advised that our number
one priority
on the Flightlines is your safety. It is critical that guests be able to
focus on directions from their guide which can be difficult when also
trying to take a photo or video. If you can safely take a photo or video
of your adventure (with a helmet cam, for example), and still be able to
follow your guide's directions, please do so. In the future, Bootleg
Canyon Flightlines will have a system in place to capture video of your
descent, and will make it available to you for sale upon completion of
your adventure tour. This system however is currently in the planning
stages.
